This is a starting template, not legal advice. Have a qualified lawyer review and tailor it before you rely on it.

This policy explains what Qualmie collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and your choices. It covers our website and the Qualmie API. Questions? Email hello@qualmie.com.

Information we collect

  • Account data — name and email, via our auth provider, when you sign up.
  • Phone numbers you submit — the numbers you send to the API for a liveliness lookup, and the results returned.
  • Usage & logs — API keys, request metadata, timestamps, and lookup history shown in your dashboard.
  • Payment data — handled by our payment processor (Stripe); we never see full card details.
  • Cookies — strictly necessary cookies for authentication and security.

How we use it

To provide and secure the service, process lookups, meter usage and bill you, prevent fraud and abuse, provide support, and improve the product. We do not sell your personal data or the phone numbers you submit.

Phone numbers

Numbers you submit are processed to resolve a liveliness result and recorded in your account's usage history so you can review your lookups. They are not sold or shared for others' marketing. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to process the numbers you submit.

Sharing & subprocessors

We share data with vendors who help run the service: authentication, payments (Stripe), cloud hosting (AWS), rate limiting, and the telecom data providers used to resolve lookups. Each is bound by contract to protect the data. A current list is available on request and in our DPA.

Data retention

We keep account and usage data for as long as your account is active and as needed for legal, billing, and security purposes, then delete or anonymize it. You can request deletion at any time.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. GDPR, CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Email hello@qualmie.com to exercise them; we will respond within the timeframes the law requires.

Security & transfers

We use encryption in transit, hashed API keys, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. Data may be processed in the United States and other countries under appropriate safeguards.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be posted here with a new date. Continued use after an update means you accept it.
